“Our screens help us reach all our employees at the same time – quickly and easily. And that’s worth a lot to us, since half of our employees are factory workers without computers or intranet access,” says Gustaf Rydelius at Volvo Group.
The screens show all employees everything, from lunch menus to information about today’s visitors and other important news. They also show customer cases and commercials to build internal pride and awareness.
“Using screens is an efficient way to keep everyone in the company up-to-date on important events; they create unity and make us work more efficiently and in the same direction. Managers from different departments are still the main source for news and directives, but information is also spread through the screens, which unburden the managers and are a good complement.” says Gustaf Rydelius.
All upgrades and updates are done centrally by the communications department, and Volvo Group has a Smartsign platform that has been branded graphically to suit the company, with a well-filled media library containing images, videos, presentations and more.
“We add new material centrally and share it with the local offices and factories. They then decide if the material is relevant for them to use. It’s very smooth and easy for everyone to use for their own purposes,” concludes Gustaf Rydelius.
